Blood cancers such as lymphoma show weaker but still consistent associations with vegetarian patterns, likely due to reduced inflammation and better immune markers. The American Institute for Cancer Research lists a plant-forward diet as one of its ten cancer prevention recommendations, alongside maintaining a healthy weight and limiting alcohol. These findings are reinforced by long-term tracking from cohorts in the U.S., Europe, and Asia, which show that the protective gradient strengthens the longer a person maintains a vegetarian or vegan diet.
