Lightning Lane Pricing Structure at Disneyland

The current Lightning Lane system at Disneyland uses a two-tier structure. Genie+ costs $35 per ticket per day for access to a rotating selection of rides via Lightning Lane. Individual Lightning Lane purchases for specific high-demand attractions like WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure or Radiator Springs Racers range from $15 to $30 per person per ride, with prices varying by attraction popularity and date. These prices apply to the 2025 operating calendar and are set by Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, which reported total annual revenue from its parks segment at $32.5 billion in fiscal year 2024 Forbes.

Disney's Genie+ service replaced the former MaxPass system in 2021. The company bundles Genie+ with PhotoPass digital downloads in some packages, but the core Lightning Lane access is sold separately. On peak days, such as holiday weekends, Individual Lightning Lane prices for select attractions can rise to the top of the range. The system uses a dynamic pricing model that adjusts availability and selection throughout the day, with new ride slots released at specific times via the Disneyland app SEC Filing.

How to Purchase Lightning Passes at Disneyland

Guests must have a valid same-day Disneyland Park admission ticket to purchase Genie+ or Individual Lightning Lane selections. Purchases are made exclusively through the Disneyland app or on Disneyland.com. Genie+ becomes available for purchase each morning at 7:00 a.m. local time, with the first Lightning Lane selections accessible shortly after. Individual Lightning Lane purchases for a specific attraction open at the time listed in the app, which varies by ride and crowd levels.

The app displays real-time availability and pricing for all Lightning Lane options. A single guest can hold one Individual Lightning Lane selection at a time and may purchase additional selections after using the current one. Genie+ allows access to the next available Lightning Lane return time for each included attraction. Disney's mobile ordering and ticketing infrastructure runs on infrastructure managed by Salesforce and other enterprise partners, supporting millions of daily transactions across its parks Forbes.

Lightning Lane vs. Other Disney Fast Pass Systems

Disney's current Lightning Lane system differs from the legacy FastPass and MaxPass services. FastPass, which used physical kiosks, was retired in 2021 at Disneyland. MaxPass, which allowed digital Lightning Lane reservations from the app for an additional $20 per day on top of park admission, was replaced by Genie+ at the same $35 price point but with a broader selection of attractions. Disney's Animal Kingdom and Walt Disney World parks use a similar Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane structure, though per-day pricing and included attractions differ by location Forbes.

Disney has not announced plans to reintroduce a free, unlimited fast pass system at Disneyland. The company continues to test and refine the Lightning Lane model, with CEO Bob Iger noting in the Q2
