The chassis uses a frosted glass back with an aluminum frame, and the model is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance, while Apple states the device supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless connectivity as reported by Forbes.

The device measures 147.6 by 71.6 by 7.80 millimeters and weighs 171 grams, with Apple offering the model in black, blue, green, pink, and yellow finishes. The front uses a Super Retina XDR display with an always-on feature, and the Dynamic Island carries over from the iPhone 14 Pro line for notifications and live activities according to Apple.

Chip, Camera, and Battery

The iPhone 15 is powered by the A16 Bionic chip with a 4-core GPU, 6-core CPU, and 16-core Neural Engine, fabricated on a 4-nanometer process, while the system supports up to 8 gigabytes of RAM for multitasking and on-device machine learning tasks per Forbes.

The camera system includes a 48-megapixel main sensor with a 24-millimeter equivalent focal length, ƒ/1.78 aperture, sensor-shift optical image stabilization, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide 13-millimeter equivalent lens with ƒ/2.2 aperture, supporting 2x optical zoom in and 5x digital zoom out. The device records 4K video at up to 60 frames per second with Dolby Vision HDR and uses a 12-megapixel TrueDepth front camera with autofocus and 4K video recording as detailed by Apple.

Connectivity, Ports, and Operating System

The iPhone 15 replaces the Lightning port with a USB-C connector that supports USB 2.0 transfer speeds of up to 480 megabits per second, while the model uses the A2890 model number for the global GSM variant and supports dual eSIM with no physical SIM tray per Apple.

The device launches with iOS 17 and supports Apple Intelligence features, satellite-based Emergency SOS via Globalstar, and Crash Detection with a high-g accelerometer and gyroscope. The battery is rated at 3,349 milliampere-hours, and Apple states the device supports fast charging up to 20 watts with a USB-C power adapter
